Ceiling Roses

Ceiling Roses and Ceiling Centres

Ceiling Centres or plaster Ceiling Roses were originally installed to protect the ceiling from the heat and charring caused by candle or gas lighting. This way, the owner of the property had only to re-decorate the plaster Centre Piece as opposed to the entire ceiling, saving time and effort.

Emerging in the Georgian era and running through the Regency, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco period, plaster Roses come in all shapes, sizes and styles, from spiralling acanthus leaf designs to plain member runs, these relief moulded plaster Centre Pieces provide a decorative and traditional background for any light fitting and can completely transform ceilings in period and modern properties alike.

Please take a look through our Ceiling Rose range. We at Regency Mouldings we are sure you will find something to suit your needs!

Note: Ceiling Roses were particularly popular during the Victorian period.
